Chen+ Miller: Chen ZhongSen - Meditative micro carvings and paintings
In 2002 Nick Miller curated a visit to Ireland by Chinese artist Chen ZhongSen. His remarkable practise includes Microcarvings made in meditation with eyes shut. Incomprehinsible works, such as "Two Poems on a hair" and "The Art of war" with 5000 Chinese characters carved onto Shou Shan stone measuring 33 x 70 cm. Miller and Chen exhibited together at The Model Arts and Niland Gallery (2002). Chens's shows and performances around Ireland, Included the Rubocon Gallery and The Chester beatty Library (where "The Diamond Sutra" is now held with other Buddhist scripture carvings now in the collection.
